HIYA,PLEASE CAN SOMEOONE HELP? I'M NEW TO SURFS BUT I LOVE EM,BUT MY 2.4 SSRG'S BRAKES ARE $$$$,I'VE HAD HER FOR OVER A YEAR.ITS GOT A SUSPENSION LIFT(WILL THIS AFFECT BRAKING),THE BRAKES GO VERY SOFT AND THE PEDAL ALMOST TOUCHES THE FLOOR BUT THE BRAKES ARE'NT THERE,THEN AFTER A SHORT WHILE THE PEDAL GOES HARD AND THE BRAKES WORK BRIEFLY BECAUSE THE PEDAL RETURNS TO GOING SOFT AGAIN,I'VE HAD THE PADS CHANGED,AND THE SERVO ACCUMULATOR?
BUT THEY ARE STILL NOT WORKING AS THEY SHOULD,PLEASE HELP!!!
IS THERE A SPECIFIC WAY OF BLEEDING THE SYSTEM?
IS IT THE SUSPENSION LIFT? OR IS THERE A MORE SINISTER PROBLEM??
CHEERS.........TONY...J REG 2.4TD SSRG....
Sounds to me like you need new master cylinder seals, the master cylinder is under the fluid reservoir.
The suspension/body lift won't affect the effectiveness of the brakes, it's just that the centre of gravity has been raised, which means you have to be carefull on bends.
