v8 transplant

Hay,can enyone give me some advice on fitting a v8 into a surf,i want to put the surf's 3.0L turbo engine and auto box into the landrover for hill rallys.
just wondering if some v8 engines will match up to the surf better than others.is it better to go with carbs over ingection???will the running gear be able to handle the extra torque??? eny advice would be taken onboard....

My old man swapped the engines on two Fiat 500s once: Couple of bricks under the engine, undo them and lift the car off. Easy.

i think there out to get me, i hope we get a lot more v8 surfs as its good to see an icon of an engine put to good use.
