      So does this side light on spots ruling also apply to the ones fitted with angel eyes? I'm now assuming it does.

      Are you allowed to have the spots side light / angel eyes illuminated as long as your side lights / dipped headlights are on?

      What's the point of selling them as legal accessories if you're not supposed to use them?

      Surely the more visible your vehicle is in the dark the better (without it looking like Blackpool illuminations of course!)

        had a reply from honest john, throws some light on the subject

        Regulation 20 of Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 (which must
        have been updated) allows any number of dipped beam headlights on a
        vehicle first used before 1/4/1991 but only two on a vehicle first
        registered after 1/4/1991. You can, however, have any number of dim
        dip lights and any number of main beam headlights. My source: Hughes
