I read the Telegraph one earlier today.
I feel the same way about all the so-called "green" kitchen goods. I kept our late 70s Zanussi washing machine going for 22 years. Our first toaster lasted 15 years. I used to change the element in our first kettle. Now they have built in redundancy. In the last six years we have had three toasters, two cookers, five kettles and two fridge-freezers. All these things with the gizmos become obsolete within 5-8 years of coming onto the market. Even the old maxim of, "You get what you pay for," isn't true now. You can't even repair/get repaired even the most expensive items now.
I remember when it was all fields round here, you could leave your back door open ..............................It's only a hobby!
