Remove the roll bar and the poo will land the first time you need to brake hard or swerve to avoid, better still try and counter steer out of that slippy when wet roundabout = nofukinchance!

If you alter the direction of a highsided vehicle too quickly, anti roll bars
or not, your in the cr@p.

don't think you're likely to do much damage unless you're REALLY swerving hard...

or doing a J turn in the council car park!

Surely no-one would do anything quite so daft?

Was just trying to point out the flaw in his argument. It's not the
vehicles alteration that will cause the problem, it's the driving it like a
tw@t and expecting it to behave like an F1 car with regards to grip
              that'll cause the damage.

I thought I'd go and find the pictures for us all to enjoy again.

Unless looking for more articulation off road (as already mentioned), I would say removing anti-roll bars is a fairly poor idea. Surfs are hardly stable with them still there. Mr Toyota put them there for a reason.

I took my anti-roll bars off a couple weeks ago in order to get increased articulation. In the time since then during normal driving, I haven't noticed much difference in roll. Yes it probably does roll slightly more, but not much. Mind you I do have the uprated LC springs fitted (they're uprated for the LC, so much much stiffer than the Surf ones) so that may mitigate it somewhat.

Stock it gets a bit wallowy, but with any uprated springs IMHO it doesn't 'need' them. but you will notice slighly more body roll on the corners.

If you not big into offroading leave them on, if you do a lot of offroading, take them off to get the maximum articulation.

Or get some sway bar disconnects, so you have the best of both worlds. I'm in the middle of making some up.

What design are you doing Tony? I've put some thought towards the turnbuckle style ones that the 4Crawler guy made. Just need to find a supplier of the correct sized turnbuckles and locking left-hand threaded nuts.
