    had my engine pressure tested, no problems! he said replace the rad cap as this
    was passing a little water back to the expansion tank, I have done this and back comes grey/white smoke. top hose very hard. I put the old one back on runs ok apart from a few bubbles in the tank ! where do i go from here??

    don't know if you have already but did you do the thermostat aswell

      Did they test the coolant for combustion gases too?

      If it was a cracked head, they can't create enough pressure to test for that so you'd be none the wiser. The only way to know for sure is to take it off and have a look. The second best way is to test the coolant for gas.

        Will have to do that when I get back from hols, Wife none to pleased to be taking her car and leaving it for 2 weeks at heathrow open carpark
