What can I park my Surf on in garden?

A bit of a random question, but does anyone know what/where I can get something to put on my garden to then park the surf on, i.e. some criss/cross matting or something like that? Just something cheap until I can get the drive properly sorted.

I only have space for one car on my drive and I have two vehicles, so until I can get the driveway extended I have been parking the surf on my front garden. The garden slopes quite a bit down towards the house. Until recently no problem, but now its very wet outside the lawn is getting churned up. This means every time I go out the mud terrains leave a trail of mud down the road.

how about some of those plastic pieces they put across holes in road ,pavement

stormforce - I don't think scaffold boards or whatever will have enough grip when wet - the garden slopes quite severely so I need grip to stop the surf ending up in my lounge!

sand tracks from the army surplus. cheap as.. that polywossname stuff can get a bit dear in small bits

or why not just dig out a couple of shallow channel line with some plastic and put some gravel along it then you should have the grip and not cost too much as long as the ground is fairly solid

dont know the name for them they are about 3ft by 2ft yellow or red (i think )
the electricity co's use them to cover holes (when they dig lol) had acouple at work i think one of the bosses found them lol and used for ramps,
you may find some by a hole near you

Hi Codlord, bin there last year ( still ain't finished it yet, we're getting there) A Cheap solution....Went to Wilkinsons, bought some of that "thin" black sheeting that stops the weeds coming through, laid it down.
Then of to Wickes or similar for some bags of pea shingle & sprinkled just a thin layer to keep the sheeting in place & enable us to Park on, sorted !!!!

Oh I forgot, cut a few bricks into to the mud just like a seawall (to stop ya truck running away) & use ya truck as steam roller over the stones

Thanks thats the kind of stuff I was searching for - actually searched the Machinemart website for a few keywords but did'nt find it. Think I will get some of that stuff, should only need 1 matt cut into 4.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I thought about some gravel but due to the slope I just think it would end up in a big pile near the house eventually.

No idea on the materials. With all the labour, top soil and seeding, I'd say around 50 quid a square metre. But that's for someone to come and do it for you. Probably dirt cheap just for the materials though - it's pretty much concrete blocks just laid on the floor.

cheers sancho just an idea for a finish on our drive we are doing at the mo
