  • Front diff - extended breather

    Hello,

Someone mentioned wanting to do this mod - here's wot I bin and done.

Pic 1 - el cheapo filter (£1.75) 1/8''bsp to 8mm push fitting and some hose to fit.
Pic 2 - close up of push fitting
Pic 3 - existing breather in situ - take off using 14mm spanner.
Pic 4 - new fitting and pipe in situ.
Pic 5 - pipe and filter in situ, cable tied to existing ADD pipes.

Coz I got no aircon, and I haven't refitted my front bash plate yet, this job takes about 15 minutes.

Do the fumes from the diff irritate your mucus membranes?

Is thread on the breather SERIOUSLY 1/8" BSP? On a Japanese truck? How bizarre!

Thinking of doing this mod next time I am under the truck, as I drive through a river regularly

That is exactly what I thought when I took them off a few weeks back - i actually 'aquired' the wrong fitting coz I thought nah, can't be, not on a jap import.....but there you go.
