Rarely use limewire anymore as there's too much sh*t on it, as you've found. You can however increase your chances of getting what you expect by using the inbuilt verification link, having spotted a file you wish to download, right click on it and goto advanced, then select 'lookup file with bitzi' this will open a browser window where the hash signiture of the file will be compaired to the database held on bitzi, often you'll find details on the file you are about to download which will confirm or refute the accuracy of the filename and often other information, such as the picture and sound quality in the case of movies etc.Originally posted by gary16163Just spent 2 hrs downloading office xp with limewire, and guess what it wasn't office xp lol

Your fine if you stick to known file types like .mp3 .avi or .jpg etc as soon as you try and download anything with executable content then you open yourself to all kinds of trouble as Jedi said. Either way make sure you have decent, up-to-date anti virus software.
You can also pass a virus through a .jpg...!!![I]96 3rd Gen in bluuuueeeeeI]
