  • CD Multichanger

Lo all, just found this excellent site whilst trawling the net. Im getting my Surf at the end of the month from a family member and was looking for some info regarding the standard issue CD multichanger. Basically the vehicle was purchased minus the caddy for the changer under the promise that the import dealer would supply a replacement, After several aborted attempts to find a replacement teh dealer requested the whole unit in order to find a match, Soon after the dealer did a moonlight flit from his premises never to be seen again leaving the poor old surf pretty much silent Has anyone got a factory issue cd changer in good working order for sale ( or even for free if ur really nice ) so I can just plug it in and go? Also can neone supply me with info on a recomended lift kit? 2 or 4 inch and specs on wheels and tyres?

P.S this is my first 4x4 so be gentle:P

      Hi mate and welcome!!

Your best bet is to put in a single din unit with a pocket to fill the gap, as the jap stero,s arnt much cop here.

As far as lifting goes theres diffrent ways of going with it depending wot you want from it...

your best bet is to have a good traul through the site and gain some knowledge of wot u want and then ask the question again!

the search button will reveal lots of info on wot you want...

oh and i may as well ask before somebody else does...

you will probably be better off getting a after market audio unit with multi changer.I had a jvc unit plus 10 cd changer put in my old 2.4 and that was ok and only cost £120

welcome to the forum, burgundy you say. as people have already said the best way to go would be to replace the cd head unit.theres two lift options to choose from either body lift or suspension lift and then theres several options to choose from each of these. one things for sure, youll never regret getting a surf.

Bin the cd multichanger idea - just get an ipod thing.

Do a body lift first - quite painless and quite cheap.

Lose the running boards during the body lift - visually makes the truck look higher (you will get complaints bout restricted entry)

Then look into suspension lifts - more involved but you'll get it (I'm still waiting to)

Then you can fit your big tyres.

Then hard core off road stuff.................

At least you're starting off on the right foot. No need to work on the insane streak.

In time, and with lots of effort and patience, you will. You'll end up being just as
sad and obsessed as the rest of us.
