Has anyone seen Surf's on TV or Films ?

I thought I saw one on a film I was watching the other night , but can't remeber the name of the film , it was possibly True lies . But not sure .

Lots on the news when the Afghan war was on. The Surf is the Taliban's vehicle of choice. Also see a lot of 4 Runners on the news driven about by the UN in Iraq.

The one that was seen in Afganistan with the helecopter bit on the roof was a 1st gen,with the same colour sceam and decal as mine
There is one right at the end of Dr dolittle and there is a quick flash of one in the new Italian job at the start of the car chase.

I watched Terminator 3 last night . A massive chase scene involving a Toyota pick up with a body pod on the back , nearly as bad as Tony N's camper body . Looked like it had been through the Pit a few times at the end of the chase .

Caught the last 20mins of a "fly on the wall" thing about a British family who had emigrated to Sydney. The woman had been looking for a "suitable car" for three weeks. Showed her on a car sales forecourt and there must have been at least 5 Surf/4Runners. She actually said she wouldn't be seen dead in Toyota. Her kids thought the 4Runner was cool ( At least the kids were trying to integrate). Whingeing Poms - PAH!

There was a film on the other night.... a p1$$ take of the Lethal Weapon series.
One scene had a big 4way junction, right before an explosion, and a gen1 surf trundled across.....

flicking through the channels tonight and gues what......Black Surf, all tinted out on Bodyguard with Costner and Whitney Houston...the vehicle is following em and drives off at speed when being confronted...then turned over to something more interesting

When they're inside West Coast Customs there's nearly always a light blue "SUV" on the hydraulic ramps behind them - I'm sure that's a 4Runner (if so, wonder what it actually looks like now?...... no doubt)

YES my SURF has been on HOLLYOAKS. When BEN took IZZY on an offroad day out. My SURF was in the opening sequence parked next to the Range Rover that they where driving.

Very clean looking red 2nd gen drives through the shot in the first episode of Michael Palin's Himalaya. Given that he was in the gun making capital of Pakistan at the time it probably had the optional rocket launcher
