  • 15-16in Wheels

Anyone changed 15 to 16, Im sure there are, How did it affect the acceleration?
Ive always had 16s, whilst mine is good when rolling, take off from a standstill is a painfull process.
Any views based on experience would be welcome
Side mounts are the new top mounts !

If it's a 2.4, acceleration is a painful process whatever wheels you have

        2.4s

Hi l find in the warm weather my 2.4 is much quicker of the mark, even with my off-road tyres on, in the cold l could run faster and l have a dodgey back so l cant run very quickly.

          So Slow = normal then
          Normal = 5h1te on fuel
          5h1Te on fuel = Surf 2.4 Auto
Surf 2.4 auto = Slow on pick up
          Alls well this end then

They weigh 2 tons and have the aerodynamic qualities of 1 brick on top of another - what do you expect?

              Very slightly better !
All joking aside I appreciate theyre no racing car but I think they would be better with different ratios.
Still better than all of my Range Rovers ever were.

i owned a celica gt4 300 bhp , i now own a 1991 mr2 @ 158 bhp , compared to the surf , yes they are quick but my 1994 3.0 td surf in comparison is no slouch either it gets upto 70 mph in very little time , 3rd gear with the turbo spooling just goes on and on , the speedo needle just wants to keep going.Keep it well serviced ALSO regular injector cleaner in the tank may speed yours up a bit.You could always fit a boost controller and up the boost slightly for more power and accelleration.

i have stock 15's on mine.

I had an MR2 Turbo, that was an animal (240bhp)
You could get it sideways in a straight line with a bootfull !
No good for going shooting in tho !!!!!!

Correct, but with aluminium cross members and a balsa composite floor I don't have to worry about if I should get it Waxoiled!!

True, but I'd get some woodworm treatment injected in there if I were you.

The woodworm will need very sharp teeth because the balsa lies inside an aluminium (I think) sandwhich.
