Matt, if the car has fixed itself I agree with Rob that it may have had something to do with the dodgy battery connection you had.
promise not to laugh, had trouble starting it this morning first it wouldnt start then it did then it wouldnt again just getting a clicking thought sh~t starter motor , f#cking loose connection on battery (mechanic fitted it )

Batman (aka Little Jonah, aka Joshua) was sad to see you go - he kept asking where you had gone, and wanted you to come back. He's very proud of his joker calling cards!!
Lovely pic by the way!
His two favourite bits of the holiday - off-roading, going down the big drops and when "the man hooked daddy's big car and pulled it up the ramp because it was broken again"!!!!!

But if it was the battery then it wouldn't have started at all. It started fine, just stopped again when the key returned to the on position.
You may be right Linda. I'm not sure at which key position the glow plugs are on but I assume they are only on during the starting procedure.
My thought was that the heavy current drawn in the full on position might cause the connection to arc across but when the key was released the poor connection may then have failed. It's only a thought and a suggestion.
