Leccy aerial.
It may be that you just need to give the aerial mast a good clean and careful lubrication job....use a very light oil or WD40... the lube will wash/wear off but it does usually work. If however the mast drive rack is breaking up then you will nee to replace it. Approx. £30 from Milners for a genuine Toyota replacement. Undo the top (slotted) nut and power up the aerial, the mast will come up and you will with care be able to completely remove the mast and its tail...the rack...its this that normally wears away or breaks leave the radio power on. To refit the new item first coat the rack with preferably silicon grease or failing that normal grease, pass the rack down into the aerial opening with the rack teeth facing the same way as the old one when it came out until it stops, turn radio off and feed rack and aerial mast down..it should go down under the aerial motors pull. If the rack is broken you have to remove (partially) the inner wing cover and undo a securing bracket together with the aerial top nut (the one with slots in) be careful not to slip and scratch your paint work. The aerial can be eased out enough to work on with out disconnecting the aerial lead. Remove the cover bolts and extract the broken portion of the rack, smear some grease or preferably silicon grease into the rack area and refit the cover, check for any gasket damage. Use gasket sealant if in doubt about integrity of gasket. Procede as for the rest of description above.
