Hope you don't mind me having a quick off topic brainpick Vince? Whilst
on the subject of wheels, what's the difference between the Surf wheel 8 offset
          and a 10 offset wheel?

The 8 and 10 you're refering to thats stamped on the wheels, is the width measurement.

Cheers Vince. Judging by that link, I assume that extra offset isn't enough to
cause any problems on the Surf? Those Landcruiser wheels I picked up the
other week have an offset of 10.

Personally, I like negative off-set wheels, with the deep dish look to them. Almost all modern cars have positive off-set wheels.
The standard Surf alloys are near as dammit zero off-set, i.e. the hub to wheel mating surface is roughly in line with the centre line of the wheel.
