engine noise coming through the fire wall where the stearing colume goes through to the engine bay. i dont know if any body has covered this before with me been a newby. first of all clean the rubber where the stearing colume goes through to the engine bay. then apply grease to the colume where it goes through the rubber and not to get it on any part of the rubber then apply silicone in between the stearing colume and the rubber pack it down and smooth off with a wet finger let the silicone harden over night. and hay presto no more engine noise p.s make sure you grease the colume otherwise the silicone will stick to it..... hope this will help.....
