  • ex army tents?

I`m looking for an ex army tent for our 10 year old son (and two lurchers) whilst we are out in the caravan (says he`s too big now to sleep with mam and dad)

I`ve been looking at this on ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=200017536074

Anyone who may know more than me know if this is a good buy or not.

Maybe you know a better place to buy from, or a better quality design and tent.

Looks like a good tent and good price. I bought all my kit from www.worldofsurplus.co.uk - the tent you are looking at on eBay is on there too for the same price
Too old to care, young enough to remember

I might be wrong. But I spent 8 years in the Army, and I never saw a tent like that!!

Look on Milweb, there are lots of dealers on there that sell Army tents. You can get anything from a one man tent up to whatever size you want.

I also done 8 years in the army and i only dreamt of tents like that. Best i had was a poncho over my head. Except in iraq we had 150 man tents which were a little big for your boy.

Thanks for the replies and the links.

I`ve been unable to find any British tents that have a sewn in groundsheet.
At the moment the only ones i`ve been able to find are Dutch camoflaged, and a French army 2 man tent.

I`ve ordered two tents from http://www.surplusandadventure.com

            http://www.surplusandadventure.com/i...opscr1177.html
            and
            http://www.surplusandadventure.com/i...opscr3092.html

Seems like a good price only £19.99 each, and only £6.95 p+p

One young fellas gonna be chuffed when he gets these.

            Thanks for the input
