  • My new winch

Just fitted my new winch on the surf, bit of a compromise as my wife wouldn't let me remove the bumper and bullbar and fit a winch bumper cos she likes the look of it as it is, tut tut.
So I made a craddle for the winch out of 5mm thickness stainless steel, which fits snugly under the bumper and between the bullbar then mounted my new 10000lb winch inside it.
I fixed the solenoid box under the bonnet and the control wire socket on the front grill.
I'm gonna go out tomorrow and try it out (wife reckons i'm a big kid lol)
Here are some pics, what do you think ???

    Nice tidy job!! Looks good.

You seem to have reduced the approach angle a bit, tho...
    It just does, OK?

Now wait just a moment. Nobody likes a smart ar*e, and those plans are way beyond anything we normally work to.

Where's the back of the fag packet? Old bit of oily paper found under the seat? Old carboard box as a template?

Cracking job mate, get down to the Run to the Sun and we can all get a closer look.

the worst place on the o/r site is in the wooded area.Hopefully there will be some rain to fill the pit up a bit but it might be a bit tight for a surf tho.I will see if i got a pic of the pit and post it up
