Have you tried Tradex Homefleet, used to have my traders policy with them, but they have just started this policy.

Its a total lottery with insurance, some say one is better than another & so on, we all go through the same sh!t every year only to get stung with a higher premium.

            Rant over.

Bear in mind I believe all insurance is legalised robbery so am not interested in the kind of service you get, I'm only buying insurance because the law says I have to!
Sky Insurance not sure of there number bu i think they are on here. 280.00 fully comp they give good club discounts as well.

Hahaha. Thats the kind of price that says "we don't want to insure the likes of you".

If I had that much money to spend on a car each month, I'd have a Range Rover.

I had an Ariel Red Hunter 500c many years ago. Think it was a fifties year. Would love to see a picture of the Ariel Square Four which I think was 1200cc.

The square four engines sound amazing. I remember seeing/hearing one at a vintage bike rally once.

Where I lived in Salisbury, Rhodesia there was a shop that specialised in Ariels. Great bikes for their day and age. I do not think there were many bikes at that time with 1200cc engines. Honda was in its infancy in the sixties and the biggest bike we had around was 250cc.
Apologies to Apache for hijacking the thread.

Hi all. I have a bit of a bugbear with insurance! Anyway, The actual cost will depend greatly on where you live in the UK. For example a guy living down Sarf, say Cornwall or Kent etc, will likely pay half the amount of someone else with exactly the same age, points etc etc living Up North near one of the industrial centres. Historically economically depressed areas of the country cost more due to higher crime rates. Areas around York cost half the amount of say Bradford or suburbs of Manchester. So when you ask for advice and people living in the more rural or affluent areas say "I got it for only £260 mate" and you are tempted to spend even more time chasing their recommended insurance companies for quotes, just bear it in mind that you may never get it as cheap as some would think - if you live in the more loaded up areas. I seem to remember seeing a map online somewhere of the loadings put on different areas of the country. It may be possible to web search for some useful tool like this. I live in a suburb of Manchester and Sureterm did it for me at literally half the price everyone else was asking for. It was TPFT though, but hey thats fine for an old motor. I don't drive it fast because I can't afford to and so am unlikely to wreck it of my own accord anyway. Sureterm gave a 15% ish reduction for quoting Roughtrax and this year they have not increased the premium, so thats actually a net reduction in price taking into account annual inflation. Welldone Sureterm (It was a big relief as I was weighing up the economics of running the superb machine until they came through with it) Hope this is some small help to someone. G.

I don't drive mine fast cos it's a 2.4 on 33s. Fast just doesn't enter into the equation.
