  • 33" tyres

Been lookin about for a set of 33" tyres for when i get my body lift done.
Dont want to spend a fortune.

    Found Marshall/Khumo 834 MT's 33.12.5R15 6ply for £288.37 for 4 delivered.

Are they cheap and nasty?? Any other alternatives??

    Cheershttp://www.valuetyres.co.uk/quotatio...67D&quantity=4

I've got these on. Great tyres, great value. The dealer is good too. The price includes P&P.

Dont think so, but you'll find that tread pattern all over the place. Think Colway produce something with the same pattern too. Vince, haven't you got them?

Khumo's are fine - we've got a couple of sets of MT's and not had any issues with them.

You will probably notice a difference in the power on a 2.4.
On my 3.0 there is slightly less acceleration, but top speed is still way above legal. Not noticed a major diff on mpg at all.

does it cruise better as its like having a higher top gear?

Would have thought on a flat road with no accelerations (ie at constant speed) mpg should be slightly better, but that would probably be lost in the noise as aerodynamic drag is by far the biggest killer at higher cruising speeds. (Drag rises at the square of the velocity)

I have had Marshal MTs on the truck for over a year with no complaints.
                    It's only a hobby!

I haven't noticed any more noise than before, and not noticed any difference in MPG ( however I now can't really tell as we've just done some major work on the engine so too many variables to make a definite decision.)

What about the spare? You'll be b*gg*r*d if one goes bang! With 5 tyres you can rotate the positions for even wear too.

I reckon theory says you should be a bit better off on longer runs as your final gearing is lower, so revs lower for a given speed. Those with lighter right boots should notice a slight improvement in mpg. Everybody wins!

Good thinking. Was just going to let some air out the opposite side. LOL

Need to start lookin for another rim then. Will it fit under truck though?

Yes- but you will need to unbolt the little tyre holder, guide thingys. Maybe re-route the exhaust if you think it's too close to the tyre (otherwise 'burning rubber' may have a different meaning for you!).
