  • Engine Oil

OK, I've done the search and found pages of stuff that don't apply...

Until I get my manual, can you tell me what engine oil and type to use, bearing in mind I work for Shell

We have barrels of the bog standard 10/40 sitting around for our tankers, will that do?

Am getting a cam belt/service soon, got the bits just need the engine oil.

    Cheers.

As long as it has a relevant ACEA/API rating, petrol/diesel 10/40 oil is fine.
I use an ACEA A3/B3, API SL/CF for both the Surf and the Venture, (2Y engine,
        1800 c.c petrol).

Ratings given to oils all oils should have them printed on the container quoted for the Surf (2nd gen) API (American Petroleum Institute) CC,CD or better

The oil is in fact Rimula 15w - 40 and the specs on the drums we have are:-

              ACEA E3
              API C/1-4/CG-4/CF
              MB 228 3

I could not see the CC,CD number as it was worn away.

              Will 15w-40 do the job??

              Cheers.
