OK, in the process of stripping everything off the old head for fitting to the new. But darned if we can figure out how to get the valves out. Having removed the cam-shaft, each valve has a blank plate on top which presumeably needs to be removed to get to the springs, but how do you do that?

Never mind.... they just pull out when you overcome the slight vacuum.

They should be the valve shims for adjusting the valve clearances. They will be of differing sizes.Originally posted by Slugsie
