  • Air Filter & Turbo Light

    Hi all,

I changed the air filter and the air duct that comes from the filter box to the plastic duct that goes across the engine today. Replaced it with the Rough Trax blue one - what a bast*rd to fit! It's a straight pipe so is difficult to fit and slightly larger diameter so the clips are a sod to get on. While I was sweating my tits off I noticed a round hole in the air filter lid near where the pipe goes on. It's got a grommet and looks like something should be there, like a sensor, but I could not see anything that has fallen out.

Anyone know what this hole is for?

Also as I wait for my handbook to arrive, someone on here mentioned a turbo light, have I got one?

    I've got a 94 3.0l.

    Cheers in advance.

The hole with the gromet in should have an air temp sensor in it which has 2 wires attatched too it.
No the 3.0l do not have a turbo light only the 2.4l
If it aint broke dont fix it

Soooooooooooo, I'm a air temp sensor short?

I did have a look around and couldn't see anything that looked like it should live there?

      Any ideas??

It may be hanging on a wire there somwhere, its black with a plug on conector for the wires, its about an 1" in dia part that goes in the hole with a moulded washer like part about 1 1/2" dia to stop it going right inside.
        Hope this helps

Look around the area near throttle housing for the sensor.

            Got it!

Your link won't work on the forum, but once cut and pasted into a browser works OK. The wire looked as if it went somewhere else, but found it in the end.

            Thanks all.

                Works for me!

Maybe 'Paff' has a higher firewall/security setting on his P.C.

                  missing photo

changing the subject completeley, I cannot see the photo either. Do you think it has something to do with the pop-ups being blocked by my firewall/security package. Or is it a software issue?

Click on 'user CP' at the top of this page, when the page opens, click on 'Edit options' then scroll down to where it says 'thread display options' and make sure three boxes are ticked.
