'Mild' body lift

Hello,

This weekend I will be doing a 1 1/2'' body lift to my Surf. I have all the bolts, spacers, radiator drop brackets and front bumper brackets.

Will I need to adjust the autobox and transfer case shifter????

My research around this and many other sites is giving me conflicting info.

(If you're wondering why a 'mild' lift, it's to accomodate a top mount intercooler. I need some more space above the engine. When I've installed it I'll post a write up).

i did a 1.5" lift...
the transfer lever will need sorting but the autobox one is fine. i havent bothered with my low range yet

No. Or at worst a little filing to enlarge the floorpan hole for Low Range use. I haven't done it yet- thrashing the car around offroad sites in low range seems to have 'cured' the interference problem....

Put 1 1/2" on Linda's truck and shifters work fine. Watch where the steering the column goes through the bulkhead or you'll rip the grommet

OK - Thanks guys, mild body lift here we come (no one had mentioned the steering grommet!).

Do the ns first and then the os or you can stretch the fuel filler to far .

Don't forget to soak the existing nuts and bolts with wd40 or the langauge will be blue

Thanks again guys - done the WD40 already, didn't know about the n/s first.

I'll post piccies when I get new tyres fitted (bit embarassing at the moment - they look like racing slicks)

loosen off the gear shift... then when done tighten up again... allows for any movement
