  • Filtering Waste veg oil

If this has been answered before, then I'm sorry, but....

I currently run my truck ona mix of Diesel and veg oil. I'm all registered with C&E, for this purpose!!

If I wanted to start using Waste Veg Oil (Which I do want to do), What do I need to do.??

I know I need to filter it. I have a 5 micron filtration system in and at the moment.. I'm thinking along the lines that there shouldn't be much water in the waste oil, but just in cas, I was going to leave a couple of inches in the bottom of the (large) container, post filter, when withdrawing it for fuel.

Is that it? What about geting rid of animal fats, etc, or will the Surf tolerate the low levels expected? Is it best to just use WVO used to fry veg products?
    It just does, OK?

If you leave it to stand in a container, it will settle out to some degree.
Just draw off the part you want. Running through a 5 micron filter will
make sure you have no awkward sized particles. As to how long to
let it settle would be a case of testing different periods of time. As to
the fats, the only way you would truly separate those would be by
    producing biodiesel.
