  • Quoted Happy At Last

Thought I would give Sureterm Direct a try. Filled out their online quote form (which asks what vehicle you have instead of you having to choose from a drop down box). They rang me this morning and after asking all the same questions again, quoted me £240.97 fully comp with £100 excess. The policy is with Norwich Union, who couldn't quote below £400 when I approached them directly. Confused.
    It's only a hobby!

Same here, i was £290 with AA but this also with Norwich Union, who quoted me a huge amount. Don't figure!
Is it supposed to sound like this??

As I said in my last rant about the infernal insurance companies it's all about brokerage and what the broker will accept for selling a bog standard policy ! NU Direct can't quote for Imports but a broker can access an underwritten policy...and still make a profit !!!

i'm with Lifesure who advertise through here and they were the best for cover (i'm fully comp with a premium £100 cheaper than nearest competitors@3rd party fire and theft at that!) and price aside which is about £450 (6 points on license) the little bonuses in the cover is unbeatable.
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

I was 22 when I got my Surf. I went with Footman James for the first year or so then A-Plan worked out cheaper after that. Was originally paying about £1400-1500 I think back in July 03. I've just renewed and it was £550, and they let me pay in 3 monthly payments with no extra charges / interest. Last year it was still around £1000. Helps being over 25, now having 3 instead of 6 points on my licence and 4 yrs NCB!
