I was hoping to go accross to Hellsmouth for some surfin this weekend as the wifey was off on her hen do (get married in 6 weeks!), but checked the surf forecast and saw that there are larger waves in my toilet!!

When are the big waves coming?

Where is Hellsmouth, is it local-ish...North Wales or something?
I want to Kayak in the Surf, but I don't want to travel too far. The nearest Beach to me is...
Southport... 3 mile walk to the water!
Ainsdale... Red flaged bathing at all times it seems!
Crosby Liverpool... Too strong a currant from the Mersey!

Can anyone Help with a safe Beach to Surf the waves in my Kayak?

The best beach "local" to me (who lives in cheshire) is Hellsmouth just north of abersoch in north wales. about a 2 hour drive for me. there's nothing there but the beach, so its good for surfing cos there's not many tourists there apart from other surfers/bodyboarders/kayakers.

i have finally found a good surf forcast site here:

        http://surfcore.co.uk/forecasts

worth a look to see if there's anything good nearer to you.

Thanks for the info Martin, I was looking at this BBC site and tought it was good, you need plenty of time to look around as there is loads of info when surf around the site.

It might not work coz I don't know how to do the link thing.

By the way I live in Skem so I think Hell's Mouth would be about 3 Hours drive for me, I was thinking af trying Red Warf Bay or somewhere else on Angelsey.
