After a mini rant about that poll about 4x4 drivers are more likley to use a mobile phone while driveing Im standing at the buss stop on me way for a shant and this frontera comes by and the guys got a phone in his ear!! felt like yelling at him but he'd probably come back and hit me,

Must admit I'm guilty of the same from time to time.

I've got fully hard wired bluetooth in the van( phone rings, stereo shuts off and phone answers) but haven't gone to the expense in the surf yet as there are other more pressing mech & elec stuff to sort out yet, anyway its not just 4x4 drivers around here, its every dodgy cavalier and escort going.

If they aint gonna pay for tax & insurance, then they aint gonna fit hands free!!!!!

I've used them for all my extras for years, I am currently using the Nokia CK1W and haven't had any problems. I fitted it myself and it only took 1 hour, which was mostly taken up taking panels off and putting them back on again, it really is easier than putting in a radio.

Saw on Fifth Gear the other week that it is reckoned that 20% of 17 year old drivers [or it may have been under 21's] have no insurance...

So the group most likely to cause an accident are the least likely to be covered...great isn't it.

I always YELL at them retards, I don't give a Monkey's who they are & I take there Reg no just in case, If I'm on me Trike they give it up pretty Quickly when they pose for a Pic (me mobile ain't got pic's facility) but they don't know that.
If that don't work I just make more noise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's because they're the lowest-income / highest-premium group.

In Australia, third party insurance is included with the annual road tax. The annual "tax disc" is actually your number plate, so it's an easy stop for the police.

I know it means that the better-risk drivers pay slightly more than they would under an individual policy (although not that much because profits don't have to be turned), but I reckon that this is a good idea. After all, it's not your own property that you're insuring.

Last week I saw people who, apparently, have plenty of money, otherwise why would they be driving Volvo XC90s, BMW X5s, Jags etc, driving with their mobile phones to their ears. Surely if they can afford a £30 - 50K car they can afford a hands-free kit?

The universal one I have in the Surf cost £4.99 off the market. It's one of those $$$$py magnetic ones but it keeps me legal.

Sounds like a great idea...Perhaps we should lobby for a similar scheme over here...
