Went diving with my remote key fog in the pocket of my drysuit at the weekend - now buggered! Anyone know of any suppliers of replacements (apart from a dealer - no doubt v.expensive)?
Before you write off the existing one, try opening it up, removing the battery (and if it was salt or dirty water, give it a good rinse next), and then roasting the life out of it with a hairdryer.
I often use this method (coupled with cleaning in an ultrasonic tank) with mobile fone circuit boards with about a 75% success rate, its worth a go.
The most important thing is to do it as soon as possible before the water can corrode too much of the circuitry)
Wow Just put a new battery in it and it works fine - survived an hour at 35metres in the English Channel, I didn't even rinse it out! That's Toyota for for you!
