    Thanks Andy, would be appreciated...

Ian, as I go along I will take pics & make notes. In no particular order I will be sorting out the tweeters, rear speakers, subs.

    Cheers,

    Shab.

Been doing some sound tests this evening running the subs at full whack - great inside, like a tin plate on a washing machine outside! Think this is going to need a substantial amount more sound dampening than I first envisaged. I am getting about 0.5cm vibrations of the area around the fuel cap! Mind you, you can hear it over half a mile away with the windows open! DAMN! Should be good for getting the dirt off after an offroad session - rather expensive way of going about it though!

There's still a lot missing from this set-up so hold tight for more info

Marvelous!! and if your truck happens to end up on it's roof again, just turn the woofers up to max and the truck should flip over.

eventually should be as good as the original - still regretting that one but gotta laugh now - lesson learned! The old body shell with dead engine i bought is going through some changes - still ready for the offroad tho which is what i really want to do - hopefully i will be able to afford another surf just for offroad in the next couple of years

Why do I get the feeling someone's going to need some
                  replacement windows soon.

You need lots of sound dampening in the back - I have the same problem after putting in the huge amp and just components (no subs yet) in the back of mine. More dynomat required...! Incidentally, I mounted my fuses in the centre pocket between the seats with a custom perspex cover - handy as there's still room for the remote to sit on top and still be hidden away when the cover is down

I like the centre console idea, will have to look into that, however the size of cabling i have isn't really practical to get ther eand back without chopping huge chunks out of my centre console/carpet! I've currently got a Stinger SPD2ANL (dual fuse box with voltage monitor LCD display) in the engine compatment with 2 leads going to the secondary battery. From the fuse box the 2 4/0 one cable goes to anther fise box for the big amp and the mains inverter, and the other to a distribution block that has smaller amps, the pc and suchlike attached. After the second fuse box theres is a 0.5f capacitor fitted in parallel then ANOTHER fuse box which has a higer rating than the one up front - baecause the amp can draw not only from the battery but the capicitor at peak moments - thus the total peak power draw is higher than that just from the battery. The big amp is grounded independently. Everything else is grounded thhrough a distribution block. Um, think that's it
