ah i no that, i hav been brought up on diesel fumes!
im drivng a 1.9tdi passat at the moment, am lukn 2 change it now 2!

Wise choice, would be 2nd Gen 3.0, the rarer manuals leave the autos standing, and will happily leave most nova/corsa trash choking in a mix of exhaust and tyre smoke if you are brave enough to dump 2nd at 3,200rpm from a standing start.

To mod the vehicle The only person I have had dealings with and trust with my life and wallet is Tony N, on site here somewhere. The Surf is not realy a quick vehicle, but it can be enhanced with a Garret turbo, high lift cams, porting, polishing, re-chipping, sport exhaust, air intake and injectors etc, their is a guy in Newzeland there were links to, who managed 300bhp from his 2nd gen 3.0 td!
