throttle position sensor

while supposedly helping me to fit some new belts on the surf my brother decided to start turning the plastic knob on the side of the throttle position sensor. "i only gave it a few turns to see what it does" he remarked. has he altered any settings?if so,how do i know when i`ve got it back in the right place. dont want to run it and see as owning a surfy baby is already becoming an expensive hobby and knackering something else i dont need too isnt an option.

What knob? As far as I know they're bolted on. Do you have a pic?
