How do they differ from the Gen 2?

I traded my 2nd Gen in for the 3rd Gen about 1 month ago, in my opinion, a much nicer vehicle, but having said that, i drove a 2.4 2nd gen on saturday, it handled better than my 3ltr 2nd gen, but did not have the extra ooomph a 3ltr has on tap.

!st Gen, 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen, all good, all highly recommended, as they say you pays your money, you takes your choice, I can recommend 4x4cars limited at Thetford very highly, the price maybe slightly higher but the quality of vehicle and after sales service has impressed me.

I have seen them in passing, they all are a bit OTT price wise for me.

Maybe ideal for a test drive though?

Are you about during the week, I'm on holiday...?

              How tall are you?
I regularly go to France in mine when it's not being mended and i've found the front seats don't go as far back as i would like, causing back/leg ache after a long time at the wheel.

Looks a bit OTT price wise, don't even state the year...

I'm looking to spend around £4 to £4300 max.

What year am I looking to get for this?

Same height as me Paff, as i say it's just my opinion though. I have done 40,000 miles in mine in 2 and a half years.I don't suffer from back problems and the high floor in the truck is not a problem, the issue for me is stretching my legs on a long trip.
I thought that the Japanese may have cut down on the legroom as the Japs tend to be shorter than westerners but maybe it's just cobblers.
There's no legroom in the back either.
                          Still love it though.

I'm 6ft and can't drive things like a Peugeot 206 because the roof's too low (or I like sitting up rather than lying down while I drive).

Only prob I have with the Surf is when driving a long distance in work shoes - the back of the shoes dig into my ankle becase the seat is low. Remedy: wear more flexible shoes (or no shoes at all).

It's never actually been a problem.
