the BP HQ next to my workplace has loads of the things

Sorry? What was the dilemma?
Import yourself a late, very low mileage 3rd Gen - you'll have difficulty spending much over £10 or £11k, which is a vast saving over an X5.
You can then throw some of your new-found wealth at the Surf - decent stereo, GPS, snorkel, BFGs, lifts, free-breathing exhaust,bag on your head etc.
You can be sure there will be lots of advice from the assembled multitudes on how to spend money on your Surf
You could even upgrade to a BURGUNDY one!
And you won't get laughed at on here...
