New Surfer and engine number query...

Hello to all,

I am the very recent owner of a '93 Surf 2.4, so the card is behind the bar and the drinks are on me!


I do have a question however. Where will I find the engine serial number? I was told by the previous owner it had been swapped (overheating original) but as it's had a few owners since the V5 was last updated I want to do the paperwork properly....

I can't remember where the engine No. is off hand but will have a look tomorrow if no one else can give you an answer tonight.

on the 3.0L it is top nearside of block by no 1 pot stamped into the flat part

2.4 is very similar, but the the bit of casting points up. Its normally where there is a small oil leak on most trucks that have had the head off!!
