    came across this link while trying to update java console..

    http://www.passur.com/sites.htm

    can track live flights using Java...just click on the live flight sites and then click on an aircraft to get the flight track, altitude etc..

    You could also try Flight Explorer

    or Flightview


    Penny & I use them, but please bear in mind they are US oriented, tracking flights coming here tend to rely on guesswork for the last few hours (tracked one that passed Gatwick at 32,000 ft then was landed ) and those going there have zippo info ("please contact airline") until US airspace

        Those trackers come in useful whe you or relatives are flying across the pond, you can get an idea of how the flight is going, will it be in early / late etc.

        I think it is Flightview has a screensaver you can download, which if licenced can track flights based around a particular flight and/or airport - can be fun fun seeing how much is on the move, especially as the planes show in animation.
