Don't mock Rob. They are highly regarded in certain circles ( Bury Park especially - Lutons answer to St Pauls). You can drop the Peugeot 1.9L TDI engine straight in. (Loads of room for an ornate tissue box!)

The original Diesel in them is a Pug anyway and is pretty bombproof if a bit slow. Much better option is a small block Ford lump (287 out of Mustang should do nicely. And it does fit cos I saw an article about one. Even an old 3 Litre Granada engine will fit and thats a monster of an engine. And cos it isn't a real original CJ3B then no-one in the Jeep Anorak brigade is going to get too worried.

Make a great real trick machine cos all the aftermarket jeep bits fit like lift kits, rock crawler boxes (you could even fit a late 4 litre straight six from a late jeep), big wheels and tyres, winches etc etc etc. Oh my poor wallet.
