dashboard ding ding (not a speed bell)

Hi,

we just got a 90 Hilux Surf. it has a very annoying dinging coming from the dash at seemingly random times. it actually play a little tune, with 7 or 8 "dings" and repeats twice. i can not pin down what is causing it. it does it when the car is on and off, going slow or fast, windows up or down... it even does it when the key is not in the ignition!
help me before i go crazy!

I think some surfs have a warning dinger when the pads are low, you could check your front pads.

dings if you leave keys in ignition and open door
dings if leave lights on
mine even dings when i switch off and get out the car
i got used to it now its the trucks way of saying

Well iam in south croydon not to far from you, I was not in the falklands I was PTI at aldershot and was in the Gulf. What happend to your surf
