just been up to birmingham and back and worked out the fuel consumption. the truck has done 31.16 miles per gallon. well impressed.

Pretty good that is. I find that steady 70 or 60 gets the best out of it. I reckon 35 mpg might be possible, but would take some careful driving.

i have a 2.4 and got 31.33 mpg i had to empty my boots of lead and
fill them with cotton wool though !!

Driving down to cornwall with a caravan on the back, 3 adults, 3 dogs, roof box on with an awning an all the kit in it and a 75kg mobility scooter all stashed away I got 21mpg, mind you I was keeping it at 50-55 for most pof the way. I was more than happy with that.

other than the looks what are the down sides to a third gen over the 2 gen??
any one traded a 2 gen in for one?

i would be glad to see the back of them or at lest my back would be glad to see the back of them, only usefull bit about the recaros is i have some headrest monitors and they are a perfect fit into the fishnet headrests

Dead right on the seats, my old 2nd Gen (non recaro's) seats were vastly superior to those in my 3rd Gen. Cargo space is however larger in the 3rd Gen, along with front and rear legroom, shoulder room etc.

id have a decent 3rd gen for decent economy...
take certain things to get those motors looking good though!
