    (1) Is it better to go in from the front or from the back?

    (2) What are the best bulbs to replace it with. Someone mentioned a blue bulb but as I am not a copper not sure what I is looking for.

Go in from the back. Remove the battery and water well, and then it's a simple twist off bulb holder.

You can get any H4 bulb from Halfrauds for about £800 each. Or about £10 from Ebay. The 'blue' bulb is just a Xenon bulb with a blue tint. Makes em' look a bit more flashy.

I tend to get my headlight bulbs from here:
            http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/

Cheaper than halfords, about the same or maybe a bit cheaper than ebay depending on how you fair, but quick deliv and you get a free set of bluevision capless sidelight bulbs too.

The BlueVision bulbs are not your boy-racer type bulbs - i.e. they don't actually look "blue" when on, but give a brighter, whiter looking light than standards.

                Agree with Trev.

I undid the battery clamps, moved the batteries back, and the the washer and expansion tank (pushed em back still connected)

Took me less than an hour for both including getting tools out and put away.

I fitted RING SUPER XENON's and they are very good, £15 a pair from the local motor factors.

I also fitted a loom upgrade kit - It has to be the best mod going. from $$$$ headlights to good headlights for about 30quid.

Blimey!! Thats some serious scaffolding you've got on the front of your truck there. Did you have to adjust your torsion bars??

Yep, I would agree with you there. Have you tried pumping helium into the bars and sealing the ends?

Search for 'headlight upgrade' or 'rockcrawler'.

Basicaly the wiring to the headlamps in toyotas is a bit rubbish. you loose about 3 volts out of your 13 on the way to the lamp - and this looses about half the light or more, Xenons are even more fussy about volt loss that halogens.

putting on bigger wires fed from a relay avoids using any significant voltage on the way to the bulb, and makes all the difference.

You can make your own, or buy a plug in kit for 30quid.
