Sticky bits

I was washin my surf yesterday when the high pressure jet peeled a little corner of the side decals off....Never liked them anyway and want them all off now...I blasted the rest off both sides but it left a sticky film on the paintwork...How do i get this off...??? What chemicals are best to remove them and how do yyou remove the thick raised decals as well....

A hair drier or or an attatchment called a caramel wheel for your electric drill will do it, followed by tar remover type stuff.

Petrol should do the trick.

carb cleaner is good but im not sure if that will mess up the paint finish iv e only used it on glass.
