A female friend of mine swore by putting her boy down and if he went into one, she would proceed to vacuum clean the entire upstairs of the house. Firstly she couldn't hear himscreaming his head off and secondly there was something about the sound of the cleaner that sent him off to sleep. She swore she used to vaccum under his cot last and he wouldn't even stir.
