  • Towbar torque stripping nuts

Has anyone who has fitted a towbar from towequipe had any problems with stripping the nuts or bolts when tightening to the specified torque??

I was tightening mine when it stipped the nut that is fixed to the metal plate that fits into the chassis.
The recommended torque is 108newton metres does this sound about right to you.

I telephoned the helpline and the chap on the telephone was very polite and offered me some good advice and promised to send a new part out to me tomorrow, this was after 6pm tonight 2 hours after the helpline was supposed to be closed.
As always top notch service from Towequipe.

As a towbar fitter, i can speak from experience this does happen occasionly with any make of bar, so wouldn't worry about it to much, but when was the last time you had your torque wrench tested, because believe it or not they do need testing as they can go wrong.
