  • Fuel Heater

Hi all saw this on ebay and wondered if anyone has tried one,
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vow2B-Bio-dies...hippingPayment
Looks well made and being electric guess you get the benefits of heated fuel straight away. Been using a veg/diesel mix and think a heater might help that little bit. Cheer John

If I read it correctly the unit supplied takes a feed of the heater pipe. Therefore there will be no assistance for winter 'cold starting' which is what is needed for the vegetarians (oils) among us..

It uses a glow plug to heat the fuel, not the engine coolant.
        It just does, OK?

I probably misunderstood the website content:

The unit uses the heater hose to heat the fuel and once fitted needs no maintainance.

However I have very little mechanical knowledge so my interpretation is almost certainly wrong. Thanks for clearing it up.

I can't see either helping with cold starts. The fuel in the fuel lines, fuel pump and injector lines will still be cold with both systems.

Sorry, Trev. I thought you were talking about the e-bay one, not the fuelcat
