Its easier to access with the wheel off , put some rag under the filter when you remove it as as you unscrew it oil goes every where and collects on the cross member ,,,,then you end up looking for a oil leak that doesn't exist
The sump should be accessable unless you have extra underbody protection

took me half an hour to figure out how to get filter out of engine bay and i also pi$$ed oil all over me cross member and lower gubbings when unscrewing it........DOH

Well, I knew and still got covered in oil !
Also took off a pair of EGR side window deflectors if anyone interested.
Cars going in for a valet & cambelt tomorrow.
