Have got Toyota 6J X 15 aloys fitted with 215/80 15 tyres on my narrow body Surf, but they have seen better days and I am on the hunt for a new set. Can anyone help by telling me whats the best size tyre to fit these rims. I want to go for a decent set of A/Ts like grabbers or the like . Also noticed that front offside tyre has more wear on the inside, all the other have even wear could this be tracking out of alignment?

Is your Near Side tyre the same type and size as the off side?
Coz I have 4 Dulers 265/70/15 that worn very evenley in-deed, until I fitted my Dunlop 265/70/15 (Spare) the same size as the Dulers, after a puncture!
But because the tye was a taller diameter it made the Duler wear on the inside edge. After swaping them back around again they now wear evenley again.I like Orientals

I'd get a set of 31" BFG A/T's or M/T's, they look nice on narrow body surfs.
These were 31" Kumho M/T's on 6" steel rims on my old grey truck....4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

I'm no expert on tyre and rim sizing but maybe you should check this out. Will 10.5s be suitable for a 6"rim. I think you may need 7" rims. I also think the minimum recommended rim width for 12.5s is an 8". Something to check on as I'm not sure.

Yes Nev , 8" is the minimum recommended rim width for 31's , but Toyota did fit 31's on their 7" rims as standard as do alot of Surf owners . I got 8" rims with 31's and they are better suited .
To narrow a rim will affect the wear and handling of the tyre as well as being a pig to fit the tyre on the rim as the side wall has to flex in so much .Rick...Member of 1st Gen club. ONE LIFE ... GET ONE !!

Nev, 12.5's are specced to 10" rims, 10.5 to 8" rim, etc..but there is plenty of leeway in reality. 31x10.5 on 6" rims gives you lots of sidewall bulge, I never had any trouble loose beads or getting mud down the bead with those rims when aired down, unlike 31's on 7 or 8" rims4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
