    hi
i have just got my first surf and would like to know if i am using it correctly ref the 4wd,at present i drive in 2wheel mode with the selector in high.is this correct as i don,t use 4wd yet,
also if i put the 4wd lever in neutral i get no drive at all so why have a neutral on the 4wd lever.
what speeds can i drive in 4wd.
i also have a red flare type thing in the passenger footwell?
    anything would be helpful

    Hi,

2WD is when the lever is towards the rear of the car. When the lever is forward I think this 4WD possibly low ratio as mine is very sluggish and struggles at anything more than 30mph to move.

When I press the 4WD button in when the lever is facing to the rear I think this is normal 4WD.

I am not sure on this and further comments would be useful.

    James.

Yeah, 2wd on the tarmac, 4wd on slippery surfaces only, N in the t/case is for working PTO (power take off) devices like winches and farm machinery, trouble is, Mr Toyoda forgot to fit a a spare output shaft to run them, so its only good for confuseing theives, or people you let borrow it.

is this a manual or auto surf?, selector speeds are slightly different.

Yes its a flare, I think it was compulsory to have on motors in japan or just standard can't remember which

              nah, 2 to 4wd up to 50mph, then 4wd H to 4wd L is something like 10mph.

SSRG is top of the range.

Also remove the flare and drop it into the local police station. They aren't legal here and would probably invalidate your insurance. Plus like all explosive devices you don't want one anywhere near you that you don't know the age or history of.

                        Cheers
