Veg oil tax

ITV new are asking for ideas how we can be "greener" and are passing all ideas onto the dept of envioronment to help them reduce co2 emissions as they've missed their co2 targets. i've asked why they doubled the tax on veg oil and how that helps people go green?

Cant understand this government and cant see why we should pay duty for using a green renewable fuel. Question: is duty paid on electricity on electric powered cars and if I drove a traction engine would I have to pay duty on coal?
