That sounds perfectly normal for the Ausies.
S why are you saying it's hard to do?

                  I found it quite easy.
Take the 2.4 to your local garage
                  Hand over keys
Hand over big wedge of cash
                  Get new keys
                  Drive out with 3.0l
                  Oh, and a big smile!

                    3.0l

Hi 3.0l into a 2.4 you will need a complete front end off a 3.0l to do the job, everything under the bonnet has to be changed plus new engine mounts have to be welded on in place. All the loom behind the dash plus ECU and the 3.0l gearbox aswell. You would be better off part/exchanging your 2.4 in for a 3.0l in the long run.
