Hi all, just joined
I am selling my volks golf tdi estate, and want to try something different. Although Im slightly disabled (not mobility wise) my finances are tight, so most 4x4s are right out of my pocket..
But i saw this Frontera 1996 TD which has 82,000 on the clock and has reasonable long mot and tax, on Ebay with starting price of £500..
However, all the reviews so far I have found on the net, except user reviews seem to pan this vehicle.
First of all, the vehicle will be used mostly for urban and once a week 100 mile motorway trip, secondly, it will be used extensively for boot sales on fields once a week.
I do have a holiday coming up that will involve a drive of 289 miles and back to the Norfolk Broads later in the year.
Im a mechanic by trade, but most of my experience was in Marinas, escorts and cortinas and morris 1100s etc.
My understanding of diesals is very limited because when i was training to be a mechanic, there was not a market yet for diesal powered cars, so werent trained in that field. I do most of own maintenance on the golf, but electrically, Im a dinasour now, and cant fault find these complex electrical systems now..
I know even less about 4x4s, but as a Gemini, love to try new things, anyway, could you advise me on the above model if possible, and would it pass under most car park height barriers, this is very important, as I have to shop at supermarkets by car, as cant use public transport..
thanx for your time
mike
